GERMANY

Only 15% of Germany is mountainous, but enough to have its share of natural beauty, with forests that extend to the horizon, and rocky dolomitic towers.

A few minutes from the summit of the Zugspitze, on the Höllental Via Ferrata (Höllental Klettersteig). You arrive here after over 8 hours of walking, of which over 3 on via ferrata.

Germany, despite having a tiny slice of the Alps, still enjoys some final flashes of dolomite rock, which explodes into absolutely iconic peaks and towers. And particularly iconic is the Zugspitze, the "roof of Germany", its highest point. Funnily enough it doesn't even reach 3000 metres, but it is no less, with its mighty amphitheater of vertical walls which recall in shape and size the rocky panettone of Monte Pelmo, some kilometers further south.
